Celebrating 2 Years of Moonbeam Mainnet
๐๐ฅณ January marked the 2nd anniversary of Moonbeam mainnet!
Reflecting on two years of remarkable achievements, we’ve seen over 49M+ transactions, launched more than 300+ projects, and grown a community of 200K+ members. Our journey from foundational launches to strategic alignments in gaming, RWA, and emerging markets has been incredible. As we head into our third year, expect further advancements across various sectors.

Runtime 2700 Update: Enhancing Ecosystem Functionality
We are thrilled to announce the release of Runtime 2700, a pivotal update that was published on January 4th, 2024, aimed at enhancing the functionality and user experience across the Moonbeam network. This update includes “Asynchronous Backing” for the Polkadot Relay chain, significantly boosting throughput and potentially halving parachain block times. It also introduces the Identity Precompile feature, enabling users to integrate personal information within on-chain accounts and EVM smart contracts. The Upgrade is planned to go live on Moonbeam on February 12, 2024 (Paris time)
For dapp developers, the update adds a storage limit per gas (MBIP-5) to promote sustainable network growth and simplifies fee management for XCM transactions. Core developers will benefit from the upgrade to Polkadot-SDK 1.3.0, which includes improvements across various modules, enhancing governance, treasury management, and XCM fee management. This update represents a substantial step forward in our commitment to advancing the Moonbeam ecosystem.
