Seascape is Developing a Game Exclusive to Moonbeam, Awarded a Grant from the Moonbeam Foundation for Their Work
Singapore – March 11, 2021 – Moonbeam, the Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on Polkadot, announced today a partnership with Seascape, an online game platform designed for the DeFi and NFT economy. As part of this partnership, the Seascape team will port their existing portfolio of games to the Moonbeam platform and will also develop a new game in the future that is exclusive to Moonbeam. Seascape is the first of many NFT-based projects to start building on Moonbeam and Polkadot due to the interoperability, scalability, and speed benefits of the networks.
Seascape has a multi-chain vision of the future and sees great potential to reach new users in Polkadot’s interoperable network in a cost-effective way. The Seascape team chose Moonbeam as their expansion point because of its unmatched compatibility. Now, they can re-deploy a version of their existing Ethereum-based games to build a new user following in the growing Polkadot ecosystem.
“Launching on Polkadot has been a clear goal of ours ever since we started designing the platform,” says David Johansson, CEO of Seascape. “This Moonbeam partnership will allow us to easily integrate our Ethereum and BSC versions directly onto the Polkadot ecosystem, giving us more valuable time to focus on what we do best: making excellent DeFi games and helping other game devs do the same!”
The Seascape Network gaming platform will also leverage gamification, DeFi, and NFTs to create an incentivized ecosystem for crypto gamers, developers, and all Moonbeam users. The Seascape team will initially be testing the games on Moonbase alpha, and more updates will come soon.
“Seascape is building a platform at the intersection of DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. The experimental combination of these elements is at the leading edge of end-user crypto engagement,” says Nate Hamilton, Director of Business Development at Moonbeam. ”We’re excited to see the team choose Moonbeam as the place to build these next-generation decentralized games.”
The Seascape team has also been awarded a grant from the Moonbeam Foundation to support their game portfolio’s development and deployment on the Moonbeam network. To find out more about the grant program, visit this page.
About the Moonbeam Network
Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on the Polkadot network that makes it easy to build natively interoperable applications. This Ethereum compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends to Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam will benefit from the shared security of the Polkadot relay chain and integrations with other chains that are connected to Polkadot. Currently, in active development by PureStake, Moonbeam is expected to reach MainNet by mid-2021. Learn more: https://moonbeam.network/.
